Diane Kennedy customers will recognize Leah Tuttle from our website and social media – she certainly features prominently. What you may not know is that Leah is our sales agent and has been for nearly 12 years. She knows the DK brand inside and out, so she was the perfect choice to join the team as our new Marketing Manager. We wanted to give you a closer look at this beautiful, accomplished woman, and tell you about the origins of her endless enthusiasm for this industry.
A passion for fashion set the course for Leah’s career. She’s worked with designers, artists, retailers, and wholesalers, as a buyer, as a stylist, and as a personal dresser. Every day, she finds new delight in seeing the clothes she gets to work with.
Leah is a multitalented woman. Sales and marketing are her forte, but she's also a chef, and cultivates organic botanicals for her own skincare line; www.wildcraftorganics.ca.
Leah grows her own herbal teas which we are currently enjoying here at the office. "Tranquility Tea" is how we stay balanced and calm throughout the day. The main ingredients are lemon balm, heirloom peppermint, chamomile, lemongrass, calendula and the legendary soothing blossoms of restorative French lavender.
Now that Leah has joined the Diane Kennedy team, she’s been discovering more and more similarities with Diane, our designer. Aside from red hair and green eyes, and their passion for fashion and cosmetics, both ladies have a love of organic gardening.
Diane and Leah have similar tastes in movies and books, and appropriately enough for the Halloween season, they’re both currently reading The Witching Hour trilogy; horror classics by Anne Rice. Around the office, you’ll often hear one or the other exclaiming to each other, “Oh, yeah – me, too!" With this much in common, it’s clear that theirs is a friendship for the ages, 12 years and counting.
Out of respect and solidarity, we would like to use our public platform to reaffirm our values and share our support for the Anti-Racism movement.
Diane Kennedy is an inclusive company, not only dedicated to endorsing the rights and respect of women and all sizes including plus size, but also respecting people of all ethnicities, cultures, and faiths. We recognize Canada as a cultural mosaic and we appreciate everyone's contributions to our local community.
Diversity is fundamental to ensuring the strength of our communities and we are grateful for its part in building a safe place to call home.
As the world recognizes this significant, pivotal moment in Black History, we offer our humble support by sharing a few links related to the Black Lives Matter Movement. We hope these links will be valuable to our readers; whether you wish for more information, want to help but may not know where to start, or know anyone who may be in need of these resources.
It is important to think critically. Our words and actions, no matter how small, have more meaning than we can imagine. This goes both ways. They not only represent us but contribute to our society as a whole. Even the smallest pebble will ripple across a lake. We believe there are many routes toward change, and one of them is education. This is the only way we can unravel the harmful values deeply rooted in our society.

Thank you to everybody that purchased a mask from us. :)
Our 100% cotton masks are completely ready to wear. However, if you want to take them a step further, Diane takes a moment to explain the extra built-in features you can take advantage of.
Our masks include a few extra features which allow you to upgrade them for even more protection. If you look inside of your mask, you will notice a small opening on each side. This opening supports an added filter, if you wish. We suggest using a coffee filter, cut to size, approximately a 4" round. Roll the filter slightly in order to insert it into the opening, and adjust into place. Please note that this extra layer of protection needs to be removed before washing, as well as replaced when you wear the mask again.
You can also use this same opening to access the channel that goes along the top of the nose, so you can insert a wire in this area to give an extra close fit over the nose. You can use a wire or a pipe cleaner, but our best suggestion is a plastic-coated twist tie. While you can leave the wire in while washing your mask, please be aware that it could rust, so we recommend removing it when washing.
How To Wear Your Mask
To make sure that you are wearing your mask correctly, you may notice an extra row of stitching. This will help you find the top of the mask, which goes over your nose. The adjustable elastic strap with the knot is first to go over your head and around the back of your neck. Then, pull the mask up over your face, while the smooth, un-knotted loop goes around the back of your head. If you have long hair like I do, you can lift the top portion of your hair to settle the elastic around the middle of your head under your hair.
Once more, thank you for your purchase.❤️ We appreciate your support at this time. We invite you to share this post with others that may be in need of masks.
Stay safe everyone!

As we adjust to the "New Normal", we realize the importance of strengthening our economy through our local businesses and industries. When you wear a piece from us, we're proud to say that it is truly “Made In Canada”. There are so many ways our business supports other local businesses.
Along with our commitment to producing our line using eco-friendly, sustainable methods when possible, our mission statement has also always included using local vendors.
From our team to our agents, every step of Diane's process involves a Canadian, likely local, element. Through your support, we're able to design and produce more collections - thus, giving back to our economy, as we continue to work with our Canadian factories and suppliers. Everything from the boxes we ship with, our hangtags and labels, all our printed products, even the zippers we use are Made In Canada.
While our fabric comes from Montreal, most everything else involved is purchased locally. One of the things we're most proud of is that all our garments are manufactured from 3 local factories in Vancouver. We think it's wonderful that these factories offer supportive, flexible work environments for their employees, ensuring that they're able to take care of their families, while still being able to work.
Even down to our shipping methods, we're proud to support our Canadian shipping company, along with Canada Post.
In an effort to continue to be actively conscientious, we are pleased to release a collection of high-quality face masks. This is in response to an announcement by Canada's chief public health officer, Dr. Tam, recommending that we endeavour to wear these to help everyone stay safe. We hope offering these will help you feel safe (and stay stylish).
Our pledge to support the local community endeavors to show how much we value our home, as much as our garments. Thank you to you for making Diane Kennedy possible. ❤️
They say a woman is like tea - you won't know how strong she is until you put her in hot water.
Our designer, Diane, has been aptly proving this the last few weeks; working like a whirling dervish; singlehandedly overseeing all shipping, daily studio operations...
(Somehow she also finds time to write our wonderful customers Thank You notes!)
...and receiving new arrivals!
We're excited to add another selection to our Dress Collection, with our Waterfront Dress.
This beautiful cotton dress was designed with our customers in mind. Diane gave this look a more structured fit through the upper body and around the armhole, with a slightly extended shoulder - thus ensuring a smooth silhouette. Reminiscent of a shift dress, it gently comes in at the waist, while having a comfortable (not too tight) fit around the waistline. It finishes with a mid-calf length and a soft, modest V-neck.
Look forward to a variety of beautiful prints:

As you can see, fashion never stops! Diane, as well as all of us here at Diane Kennedy, are still carrying on. Rest assured, Diane still has new fashion up her sleeve this season, so stay tuned!
Thank you so much for your orders! We truly appreciate your support at this time and always.
