Rainforest Refresh: Yellow Point Lodge Part 3
A trip to the coastal islands is never complete without a hike in the forest. With 68 protected acres to explore, Yellow Point Lodge is certainly ideal for forest bathing. A conservation covenant means that these majestic trees and rainforest can be enjoyed by generations to come who will see and experience this as I am now.
Surrounded by mature Douglas Fir, our rustic cabin was the ideal base to explore from but also relax and lounge on our deck over looking the ocean. What a view! Just steps to the beach and forest trails leading deep into the woods. I feel at one with the landscape in the Playful Tunic in Garnet amongst the berries of an Arbutus tree. The coastline and property was dotted by these mature Arbutus trees, some lush with berries and their beautiful cinnamon peeling bark. Indeed the paths were littered with sheets of the shedding bark. Barbara looks lovely in the Playful Tunic in Admiral blue. I love the contrast of this shade against the rusty brown of the bark.
Pillows of moss drape every branch and coat the forest floor. I feel refreshed as the trail takes me deeper under the canopy and I breathe the grounding scents of Douglas Fir. With a deep sense of belonging, I feel at peace here. The Artistry Tunic in Rainforest makes me feel like I blend right into the forest. At the end of a day refreshed in nature; what better way to unwind than this?
Yellow Point has been a wonderful retreat and I feel so grateful to be able to explore the forest and coastline of my beautiful province with my lovely travel buddy, Barbara.
