Behind the Scenes at Our Fall Photoshoots
Each photoshoot that we do for Diane Kennedy takes some time and planning ahead. Since we are doing more frequent, smaller fashion releases, we have been doing photoshoots more often. We love featuring photos of our clothes outdoors to take advantage of natural light and the beautiful greenery in Vancouver! The beautiful Momiji Gardens at Hastings Park is a Japanese style garden and a little hidden gem along East Hastings Street. It is close to our office (bonus!) and always fairly quiet.
For part of our Fall collection, Diane has brought back the Soft Shirt, this time in Steel grey. It looks great paired with a pair of pants for the office, or jeans for a weekend or more casual look. We have it paired with our popular Flex Pants, and with our new striped Gallery Vest, which is a new piece for Fall 2019. Scarlett is also sporting a favourite pair of fabulous Fluevogs - the Zenobia which is a slingback wedge heel. The Gallery Vest is a piece that is very versatile - it could be worn over our Perfect Top, and yet still light enough to go under a coat.
We have a system down when it comes to transporting our clothing and accessories to various outdoor locations for our fashion photoshoots. This handy vintage train case is from Diane's personal collection, and has been toted around the Lower Mainland a lot! Of course, we love our Fluevog shoes and tend to use them often when styling Diane Kennedy clothing.
The City Tunic in steel with black stripes is another new colour way for Fall. It is an easy-to-wear design, has a flattering crew-neck, 3/4 sleeves and of course, a pocket! In this photo we paired it with the Balance Pant and the necklace is by Bellalili (bracelets are Scarlett's own). The weather was really warm, but we found some great shady spots for photos.
Makeup touchups, especially when shooting Fall clothing in the heat of summer are inevitable! Scarlett brought her own lip colours but was enamoured with Diane's new MAC lipstick in You're So Vain (it's fabulous!). Logan, our in-house photographer, is always a pro at scouting great spots to photograph in-between set-ups and changes, so we are often complete in record time.
You will see more of Momiji Garden in our upcoming Fall photos!
