This week's Studio Shop amidst COVID-19

During these most uncertain times, we have made the decision to move forward with our usual bi-weekly public Studio Shops. Our last one for this month will start tomorrow (Friday, March 20th) from 2-7pm and ends on Saturday (March 21st) from 11-5pm. We’d like to talk about this decision, and assure our guests that our space is a safe environment to shop in.

We appreciate the importance of social distancing at this time and we're very lucky that here at Diane Kennedy, we typically don’t have much close contact. Our Studio Shops are managed by 1-2 of our team and outside of our public Shop
Days, our studio is only available via appointment.

To that end, we have decided to open up for shopping amidst the current COVID-19 situation, because we are a small business. We remain a staple in your wardrobe, because you, our wonderful customers, take the time to support us. Your regular shopping mall retailer will receive hundreds of customers and be manned by over a dozen staff members on any given day. That is a lot of exposure, which is why we understand shutdowns, city-wide. However, for us, much of our business is done online, and only a limited number of guests will visit us, physically. That being said, we want to be able to offer our local customers the opportunity to try on our garments and be fitted professionally, while giving us another avenue to make our items available.

In our province (British Columbia), social gatherings of over 50 people have been canceled until further direction. Thankfully, our studio’s capacity is about 10 people at maximum, and we normally have under 5 guests at a time. This means our studio complies with this current regulation and there is more than enough room to keep your distance from others while shopping.

Of course, we maintain a high level of standards regarding hygiene and have our bathrooms equipped with locally-made hand soaps (by Barefoot Venus) for those wishing to use them.

We politely ask that if you or someone very close is ill, that you stay home and rest. We are always available online and should you have any questions about our garments, we are only a Facebook message or email away (info[at]dianekennedy.ca)!

One more reason why we’d still like to open up shop? Spring is here! New Arrivals have been trickling in. As well as making them available online, we want any locals interested, to be able to try these new items on. Even during periods of seclusion, taking some time for yourself, dressing up for the day and treating yourself well can have a powerful impact on your mood. Positivity and self-care is so important at such a trying time for all.

We hope that you'll join us this weekend
